Why We Built This Site
North Carolina has a unified court system, yet the route to a Mecklenburg record can still be hard to identify. Superior Court District 26 handles felony and major-civil matters. District Court handles misdemeanors, traffic, family, small claims, and lower civil tiers. The Mecklenburg County Clerk of Superior Court maintains local court records for both divisions, while the eCourts Portal supplies a public search path for available case information.
The practical issue is often the right access channel. A current hearing is checked through Search Hearings and confirmed when needed. A missing older document may require the correct Clerk division. A certified record comes from the Clerk, not an ordinary Portal screen. The resource organizes those distinctions around official Judicial Branch and legislative sources.
What You Will Find Here
The reference pages separate Mecklenburg County court tasks so a reader can start with the record type and court purpose.
- Docket searches: the public routes for criminal docket search and civil docket search.
- Settings and hearings: how court dates combine Portal, local schedules, and Clerk confirmation.
- Case lookups: the fields and limits of the statewide case lookup.
- Clerk-held material: how a court record search differs from a document copy or certification.
- Traffic matters: the court-file and court-date route behind traffic tickets.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference resource with no affiliation to a North Carolina court, the Mecklenburg County Clerk, or another government office. It cannot access official files, alter a court setting, or decide whether a document is public.
- It cannot issue an official Case Summary, certified copy, order, or court document.
- It cannot change, reset, remove, or seal a Mecklenburg County court record.
- It cannot confirm an individual hearing when the Clerk or caseflow office must do so.
- It cannot provide legal advice about a charge, filing, deadline, or court result.
- It cannot guarantee that an online record, fee, schedule, or contact listing is current.
Only the Mecklenburg County Clerk of Superior Court or the court that holds the matter can issue an official or certified court record. Confirm important information with that originating office.
Search Partners
Some pages include a search box supplied by third-party providers. Those providers operate their own products, pricing, and result sets. A referral fee may be earned if a visitor chooses a paid service through one of those providers. That arrangement does not make a private search result an official Mecklenburg County court record, and it does not change the public access channels maintained by the courts and Clerk.
